How is normal life is going to be like after COVID-19?

 

The world might be a different place when we get out of this.

Adjusting to the new normal will have its challenges. The restaurants and cafes you are used to go, might not exist anymore, some of your friends will not be comfortable to give you a hug, or even a handshake, when you see them again after all these months of lockdown.

Everyday activities like catching public transport, may feel strange, and for many of us, even old hobbies and habits like getting a drink at the pub, a dinner party with friends or going out dancing, might be looked with concern about whether it’s wise to socialize in close contact with others.

And that leads us to a question: How to easy back into life after lockdown? Below you will find 5 tips on how to make a better transition into the lives we used to have before the pandemic.

 

1 – Reconnect

It’s been a while since you’ve physically seen your friends and family members. They’ve changed as much as you have. Spend some time together creating new memories, processing the experience, rebuilding bonds and supporting one another as you move into the next phase of your relationship.

 

2 – Look after yourself

Anxiety will be an issue for most of us, especially when we are forced to socialize again. Going back to work in the office, or even driving your car, can be challenging at the beginning. Take note of how you feel and consider speaking to your GP if feelings of anxiety persist or worsen.

 

3 – Analize

Make a list of new habits you’d like to embrace and start implementing them one by one. Probably you will notice that of all the changes that happened, some can be used to get rid of old habits and incorporate new ones. Have you realized you want to work less, exercise more, make more effort to spend time with friends and family? Take the opportunity to develop your new life.

 

 

4 – Remember

Keep an eye on the government announcements: Wash your hands regularly, keep a safe distance from others and keep up with the rules as they change so you know what you can and cannot do.

 

5 – Search

 

Look for new opportunities. Start a new course, look for a new position, plan new travels. Now is the perfect time to change, learn and grow.
